What title insurance is

Title insurance is a policy that can protect a property owner against some risks that a title search will not show. Policies commonly cover things such as building work done by a previous owner without approval, boundary and survey problems, and fraud. It does not replace home and contents insurance. If you would like a policy, we can arrange title insurance for you through a third party provider.

A caveat is a notice on the title that someone claims an interest in the property. It can stop some dealings being registered until it is removed.
